This Viking raider’s name is literally “Thief of Peace” and it is easy to see this axe wielding warrior as just that. His shield is decorated with entwined dragons, a common motif surviving in period jewelry, and possibly used in other decorations. This veteran wears an iron helmet with a nasal guard and a shirt of iron mail rings. These shirts were heavy, but incredibly flexible allowing freedom of movement during combat. Fur capes were known to have been worn for warmth, a necessary piece of protection in the cold of the north.
