After his resignation from the government, following the Dardanelles debacle, Winston rejoined the Army and was appointed Commanding Officer of the 6th Btn. Royal Scots Fusiliers in France. Here he is shown wearing a French “Adrian” type steel helmet along with the Scottish style military jacket and jodhpurs and puttees.
