First Legion is pleased to continue the expansion of our Battle of the Bulge series this time with US Military Police! The US Military Police played a very important, though mostly unrecognized, role in the Battle of the Bulge. In a battle of manuever with divisions retreating and later advancing across a dispersed road net, the military police played a key role in manning critical crossroads and assisting units getting to where they needed to go and sorting out the inevitable traffic jams. They also played a critical role in detecting and apprehending German saboteurs behind the allied lines. Several were killed in action performing their various tasks and many were engaged in ad hoc small individual skirmishes that go largely unrecorded. We have presented the Jeep with a wire cutter attached to the front. These were sometimes placed as we have shown to cut wire strung across the road by the Germans.
